Abstract

Biography Footnotes no. 26 showcases the incredible array of work undertaken in 2025 by staff and students at the National Centre of Biography and by the wider community associated with its flagship project, the Australian Dictionary of Biography. In its pages we celebrate the publication of not one but two monographs by core team members, as well as various successes with awards and fellowships, including the Hazel Rowley Literary Fellowship and the ABC TOP 5 residency. We also offer readers an update on Volume 20 of the ADB and celebrate the contributions of Dr Patricia Clarke and Dr J. J. Carmody over many years. This issue has a special focus on professional staff: we share the story behind the newly renamed Nan Phillips Library, and we celebrate Karen Ciuffetelli's 40 years at the ANU. Read about all this, and much more, in this number of the NCB's annual newsletter.
